Germany has launched a tender for 124 sniper rifles chambered in 8.6x70 mm (.338 Lapua Magnum) for the German Army.
The new bolt action or semi-automatic sniper rifle, to be named G29, is planned to be equipped with an optical scope compatible with the standard German Army issue NSV80 night vision
