Nikos Dendias was appointed as Greece's minister of National Defence on 31 October.
Dendias replaces Dimitris Avramopoulos, who had been appointed as Greece's commissioner in the European Commission.
Dendias previously served as minister of public order and minister of development. He is a lawyer
