The US Navy (USN) announced on 15 January that USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) will replace USS George Washington (CVN 73) as the 7th Fleet's forward-deployed aircraft carrier based in Yokosuka, Japan, in a move it said will enhance naval capabilities in the Indo-Pacific region.
